About the survey

​

Aim of this survey:

This survey was conducted for the purposes of a GLP-GEfIL project by students of The University of Tokyo. Our project seeks to raise awareness on sexual harassment and consent within The University of Tokyo by publishing posters to provoke debate and inform students on the resources available around campus.

 

Targets of this survey:

Current undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff/faculty at The University of Tokyo.

Survey Period:

February 21st 2019- April 1st 2019

Survey Method: 

The survey took the form of an online questionnaire created using Google Surveys. We distributed the link online via social media (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LINE and Slack) to undergraduate and postgraduate students  as well as UTokyo staff.

About Respondents:

The number of the respondents : 223  ( JP 177 EN 46 )
The  gender of the respondents : Female 119 (JP : EN=94 : 25)

                                               Male   102 (JP : EN=82 : 20)

                                               Other   2    (JP : EN=1 : 1)

The anonymity of the respondents are preserved, that is, results were kept anonymous, and identifying information, such as name, date of birth, address, e-mail, etc. was not collected.

Disclaimer:

Our results might not be a perfect reflection of the current situation in UTokyo in terms of 1) gender ratio and 2) the distribution of students based on faculties/departments.
